This Thai black tea comes from the Doi Angkhan plantation in the North of the country in the famous "Golden Triangle". At an altitude of 1200m, it's one of the plantations protected by the "Royal Project Foundation".
The "Royal Project Foundation", non-profit organisation, has been created in 1970 by His Majesty Bhumibol Adulyadej, King of Thailand.
The objectives of this organisation are to fight against deforestation, the opium production, and the poverty, by integrating socially and economically the exiled tribes from Laos, Burma and China, settled in the mountains in Northern Thailand.
This tea is a real surprise, thanks to its sweetness and its beautiful red copper cup.
