This rolled up Thai oolong is made from the famous Thai cultivar, Jinxuan, and is mixed with a local plant (Nuo Mi Xiang) which taste like sticky rice, at the beginning of the tea making process. One of the most surprising tea since the Milky Oolong.
It comes from the Doi Mae Salong plantation, in the North of the country, in the famous "Golden Triangle", where the tea culture replaced the opium's. It peaks at an altitude of 1500m, and it's one of the plantations protected by the "Royal Project Foundation".
The "Royal Project Foundation", which is a non-profit organisation, has been founded in 1970 by His Majesty Bhumibol Adulyadej, King of Thailand.
The objectives of this organisation are to fight against deforestation, the opium production, and the poverty, by integrating socially and economically the exiled tribes from Laos, Burma and China, settled in the mountains in Northern Thailand.
