Thai Oolong, which comes from the Doi Angkhang plantation. Very fruity and floral, it's also surprising because of its length in the mouth.
Its particularity is due to the fact that we only pick up leaves which have been eaten by small insects called Jacobias formosana (cicada's cousin), best known as tea green leafhopper. They produce a secretion that stays in the tea leaves, which later will produce chemical changes that are said to improve the aroma of the tea.
This tea comes from a plantation, which is protected by the "Royal Project Foundation".
The "Royal Project Foundation", non-profit organisation, has been created in 1970 by His Majesty Bhumibol Adulyadej, King of Thailand.
The objectives of this organisation are to fight against deforestation, the opium production, and the poverty, by integrating socially and economically the exiled tribes from Laos, Burma and China, settled in the mountains in Northern Thailand.
